TOBC were approached by the HSE to carry out emergency works in Ely Hospital over the initial Government Shutdown period. The works involved the strip out of wards over two floors including any existing mechanical and electrical works, back to shell and core. Once that element was complete we were instructed to deliver a complete fully functioning ICU ward. TOBC assembled a team to carry out the works over a 5 week period. In that time, TOBC delivered a completed 21-bed ICU ward including all associated services. Our experience and the good will we have garnered over many years in the Health industry allowed us to organise the required specialised sub-contractors. Our managerial strength in depth combined with strong financial resources ensured there were no downtime in the supply chain. We are pleased to deliver the units with in the agreed timeframe for the Design team led by RKD Architects and the HSE. Thanks must go to our staff and our sub-contractors who took on board the urgency of the situation and working under Covid 19 restrictions managed to deliver this potentially life saving facility in double quick time.
