This multimillion euro extension and refurbishment project was completed over two years in two separate phases. Phase 1 involved the demolition of a number of existing school buildings, the construction of a major new one and two storey 12 classroom extension including GP Hall which ties into the existing School Buildings and the provision of new vehicular and pedestrian entrances, car parking, play areas and all external facilities. Phase 2 involved another modern two storey extension, part-demolition of existing buildings and major refurbishment works to existing school buildings including all ancillary external works. All works were carried out on a live school campus requiring careful planning and strict H&S measures to be in place at all times. This project saw successful completion on time and within budget. Our thanks to the Design Team of C.J. Falconer & Associates, Macminn O’Reilly Mahon, Hayes Higgins Partnership and GSP Fire for their direction and collaboration on this substantial project.
